King County Sherriff Officers abandoned the maintenance worker and other apartment staff during the course of the eviction of the tenant even though the officers knew that the tenant posed a real, active threat to anyone involved in the eviction.
King County defended the case vigorously, but after losing motions to dismiss at both the trial court and appellate review levels, and after PWRFL attorneys deposed each of the officers present, the County finally agreed to pay the estate of the maintenance worker $10 million.
